Flight cancellations

With the ongoing military action in the middle east many flights are canceled that route thru that part of the world..

At this time there has been no announcement from the Thai govt/Thai immigrations about any "amnesty" due to overstay because of flight cancellations.

If your flight out had been cancelled and you've ran your current entry/extension stamp down, you can go to the immigration office and apply for a 7 day "get outta dodge" stamp for 1900 baht.

It is actually an "extension of stay not approved" stamp that gives you a week to get out of Thailand.

Overstay fines are still in effect and as it is now, even if your flight is cancelled you'd still incur them if you overstayed your current stamp.

If we hear anything we'll report it

Safe travels to everyone.
Answer summary
Due to ongoing military action in the Middle East, many flights through that region have been canceled, affecting travelers in Thailand. The Thai government has not announced any amnesty for those who overstay their visa because of these cancellations. Travelers whose flights are canceled and who are close to overstaying their current visa can apply for a 7-day "extension of stay not approved" stamp at the immigration office for 1900 baht, which allows them to remain in Thailand for one more week. However, overstay fines still apply regardless of flight cancellations. Community comments indicate that there has been no official announcement from Thai immigration about waiving overstays or providing further extensions.

OP
okay I want everyone to know that this was published this afternoon

BUT

at this time there is NO official announcement from thai immigrations that they are either waiving overstay OR providing some extension option to stranded travelers

I talked to two immigration offices today and they said other than that 7 day "extension not approved" stamp to get out of thailand in a week there is nothing else and they were not told to waive overstay OR provide any extensions yet

let's see what they come up with

OP
Alas, this will now be just an FYI post.

Best of luck to everyone whose flight was cancelled.

We will report back if/when there is any announcement concerning it from the thai govt
