TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a 60-day tourist visa, you can fly from Chiang Mai to several nearby destinations like Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Singapore. Each location has its own process: Singapore allows online application and appointment booking post-approval, Kuala Lumpur requires an appointment for application and passport pickup, while Ho Chi Minh City offers a walk-in service for visa applications.

it is not: I want to stay and the Thai Consulate has to provide. It is depending on your history of living and staying inside Thailand and as that is a mystery for us, I gave the same advice as some Thai Consulates do when they see your passport full with stamps from Thailand.
