Hi,

I am Australian and planning to visit Chiang Mai next April 2022. I will be staying with a Thai national and hope to stay until October (approximately 6 months).

If possible I would like to visit Vietnam and Laos during my visit and do some travel around Thailand.

I would appreciate some feedback on what would be the best type of visa to apply for.

Its far too early to look into April 2022....

Check back in March and lets see what the COVID situation is in SE

Asia.

Right now all Thai land borders are CLOSED.

As SE Asian countries are not open to foreigners yet.

For a six month visa...

The METV 6 month Multi-entry tourist visa would work for you IF IF... IF ... borders were open once again.
