Hello ,sadly my Thai wife passed away just before Covid (cervical cancer. I have two kids with her. I'm from the UK and her sister looks after them in Buriram. I need to sort out British passports for them. Does anyone know any agents In Buriram that can do this.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK expat in Buriram seeks advice on obtaining British passports for his children following the death of their Thai mother. Community members suggest various agents, including Mark Jacob, who offers postal services, and VFS Global in Sukhumvit. Additionally, they advise contacting the nearest passport office to navigate the application process and highlight the need for long-form birth certificates and translated Thai birth certificates for eligibility.

why wouldn't you have your kids in ESL?

so sorry for your lost, good luck and all the best.

They will need your Long Form birth certificate to prove that you are British Otherwise than by Descent. Also their Thai birth certificates, translated into English. Everything else should be straightforward.

You will need to translate their birth certificates into English.

You could also get both of them British birth certificates from the British Embassy in Bangkok as their father is British.

Where were they born?

Noted getting in ouch with the Vfs office here in Thailand directly .. they should speak English tho . .. and if have the documents . It should be straight forward . If the kids are minors you would be required to be present with the kids for the appointment !

@Stuart ********
oh I see it all has to go through vfs .. yes things have changed
Del ******
Are you looking for passports for the kids ? Cause passports can only be sorted by the respective embassy ā€¦ visas yes youā€™ll have to get In touch with Vfs .. !

@Del *****
yes I need to get passports for them but they live in Thailand, I'm in the UK so don't know what to do or how about getting them. They don't speak English so I need someone in Thailand who can explain as they have the documents needed

@Del *****
The British Embassy has nothing to do with passport issuing these days. Itā€™s done by a company called VFS.
