Hi Everyone I have an ED Visa that expires in October.
Where is a good country to apply from currently? Can someone recommend a good Muay Thai gym in Rawai or southern Phuket that has a good reputation for the DTV so far?
I assume leaving the country without a re entry permit would cancel my ED Visa and then I’m free to apply for the DTV and then re enter on the DTV?
Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on applying for a DTV visa after their ED visa expires in October. They inquire about good countries to apply from and reputable Muay Thai gyms in Rawai or southern Phuket. It is mentioned that leaving Thailand without a re-entry permit may cancel the ED visa, allowing for a DTV visa application upon exit.
Go to your school and ask for the cancellation documents for your ED visa. Then go to your local immigration office and properly cancel your ED visa on the date you leave. After that, you can apply for the DTV visa outside of Thailand.
I once had a problem with not canceling my ED visa and then wanted to fly back home. At the Bangkok airport, the female customs officer completely freaked out and started yelling at me. She then disappeared into the backroom and came back, cursing and screaming. The whole thing lasted about 20 minutes, and in the end, she somehow canceled my visa. As you can imagine, I won't forget this. I can't say whether a non-cancelled ED visa will affect your DTV application, but as a precaution, I properly canceled my ED visa before applying for my DTV visa. I think that's the proper process.
I think if you leave the country without a re entry permit then the visa is automatically cancelled. I think that’s why they ‘cancelled’ it after the freak out as it’s automatically cancelled.
Anonymous participant 681 I signed up with them and so far they have been amazing. They sent me the documents ahead of my flight to Bali tomorrow. Lovely owners🙏
