Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonably-priced ASQ in Bangkok--preferably near the airport-- with clean accommodations and decent food? Leaving in a month. As I investigate options, I'm detecting scams-a-plenty and reading some pretty scary reviews. Help! Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking recommendations for reasonably-priced Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) hotels in Bangkok, preferably near the airport, with clean accommodations and decent food. Several commenters suggest options like Anantara Riverside and Centre Point Pratunam, sharing prices and attributes. The conversation also touches on vaccination rules allowing travel to Phuket without quarantine and recent COVID testing requirements.

are you locked up for 15 days? It's not so nice
Daniel ***********
And a nice full-wall window that made me feel less claustrophobic.
Daniel ***********
It was 10 days when I was there. Yeah, it isn't nice to be locked up at all wherever you are but they had great food and service which helped a bit.

Why stay locked up in a hotel for 2 weeks when you can be free in Phuket!
Todd ***********
If you are leaving in a month and are fully vaccinated then you can go to Phuket for a week without quarantine and then travel to any open provinces after that so long as you pass a covid test after 5 days.

FYI "You can access your COVID-19 vaccination status through the free NHS App. You can access the app through mobile devices such as a smartphone or tablet. Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will be shown within the NHS App. We recommend that you register with the app before booking international travel. For access via the NHS App you do not need to contact your GP."

I think many will stay in Phuket as well since the population will be mostly vaccinated and the covid numbers should remain lower than in other places.

we motorbiked to Phuket in early April, in all my 33 years of coming to Thailand I have never seen it so dead. We went to Patong Beach one afternoon and it had maybe 12 people. Patong itself looked like a bomb had gone off.

@Tom *******
ya it is confirmed

covid test now EVERY FIVE DAYS WHILE IN THAILAND is the newest thing I read.
Michael ********
@Stan ******
yep i just read the every 5 days whilst in country 5555
Stan *******
@Michael *******
quite insane... Test before you enter, test after first five days, test upon leaving phuket, test every five days or when entering a new province.... Scrap the Sandbox! if that's the case. Thais have always been a little out of touch with reality, but this stretches it beyond imagination, if that's what's on the table. Where did you see it?
Michael *********
@Stan ******
i'm just playing their game now

@Stan ******
i had chance to look through the rag called thaiger, but i googled the info as well and its not anywhere else on the web. Its not exactly rueters and i have always taken any info on there with a pinch of salt.
Stan *******
Not

Stan *******
Nothing at all is official anyhow... Not even July 1
Stan *******
@Michael *******
It was on Thaiger news source. Pretty reliable folks. Don't recall where I saw it but it was last few days.
Michael ********
@Stan ******
Was it refering to time in quarantine, because last july i came in and had three tests over the 16 day period.
Stan *******
And there will be other requirements added on as the date approaches. I had a 7 day quarantine booked until they changed it back to 14.... Nothing at all is written in blood
Stan *******
Also read must check in DAILY on the app. It's house arrest
Stan *******
@Michael *******
no. Not at all quarantine. It was rules for phuket reopening and following.. As I said, I just read it. No one at all would come if testing every five days at our own expense. No one
Michael ********
@Stan ******
yes we know thats why admin posted about Sandbox yesterday as too many people speculating and nothing confirmed, and as you know can change last minute
Stan *******
@Michael *******
can you refer me to your admin post about sandbox?

a good friend of mine used this hotel and was very impressed with it. He paid a little extra for a river view.

On his final evening the hotel prepared him a special meal.
