Been twice in the past 6 weeks, first to Bangkok, about 1 hour, then 2 weeks back to Phuket, again close to an hour. Both departures were via the automatic gates, went straight through.
Luckily for me, I was with my Thai gf and they allowed me to go thru the thai side. I was literally through in less than 2 minutes with no questions asked. The regular immigration line was packed almost all the way down the hallway ay BKK.
I have an E-passport . I went through the automatic gates and was stamped in quicker than my wife who was entering on her Thai passport. Same thing in departure. I was through in minutes.
10 - 15 minutes. Held up by an idiot that hadn't filled out his TDAC, and had no clue what the IO was on about. He had to be escorted to the terminals by security.
