What are some Muay Thai schools in Chiang Mai that can assist with obtaining a DTV visa for short-term training?

Can anyone suggest a Muay Thai school in Chiang Mai that has been able to help them to get a DTV visa? Ideally looking for 6-8 weeks training initially if that sounds feasible.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is looking for recommendations for Muay Thai schools in Chiang Mai that can help secure a DTV visa for a training duration of 6-8 weeks. Responses include mentions of 'Muay Thai Fever', which has experience with DTV visas through coach Derry, and advice on the necessity of longer training periods to avoid being issued tourist visas instead.

I am doing my visa on Sunday in Hanoi with them. Derry knows more about DTV than anyone I have spoken to. It's also a great gym.

maybe. But people have been refused after using that gyms name. They aren't registered with sport Thailand apparently.

You won’t see any other gyms advertising here because they’re focused on their workouts and maintaining their facilities. In contrast, Derry seems to have nothing better to do than commit fraud. Derry, you should be ashamed of yourself.

The consulate contacted me to discuss Muay Thai Fever Gym in detail. They confirmed that while the gym is taking money from people, it isn’t even on the consulate's list. Derry claims that his gym is registered, but that isn’t true. I provided him with all the necessary information, but now he’s avoiding issuing a refund because he’s only interested in taking people’s money, Derry beleive me you will not get rich with 15K. you should feel shame for this

I advise you not to contact Derry from Muay Thai Fever; he’s just out to make money, and you could end up facing the same situation I did. My visa was rejected because of the documents he provided. Please do your research before applying.

one person not people ( I accept your apology) is lying and saying we are not registered to try and get his money back. I don't know why he didn't get the dtv but it can't be because we are unlicensed because we are licensed. He has no proof ... he says the embassy called him ... so nothing written I don't belive this was the reason he didn't get dtv because he says he has a list of registered gyms, there is no such list and he hasn't shown me it anyway.

He definitely can't prove we are unregistered because I can prove we are.

if I may, to possibly smooth out the process for future applicants as well as embassy staff, provide photocopies of the 3 (or however many you have) certification documents to the registered applicants to include in their DTV paperwork submission to the embassies.

We include 10 documents in our pdf pack

Stamped and signed

I'm not new at this

We evolved with the application process and now have a document pack that can't be challenged within reason

@Dan ******
there is no such list as far as I can establish

The various governing bodies who license muay thai are

1. Sports authority of Thailand

2. Board of Boxing Sport

3. Ministry of Education

It is also required that a gym us a registered Ltd Company liable for tax.

The Education visa requires a gym to be a licensed school but this is not the case for the DTV.

Find a gym that has all 4 licenses and it will be 0lain sailing but if you already have a gym see what license or licenses they hold and try and match it with an embassy requirements.

our coach is Boonlai Sor Thanikul ( Google or look on wikipedia) is he lightly to work at a fake gym? No .. is lightly to sue any one for slander who insults him and his legacy? Maybe

A bona-fide muay thai legend one of the most famous of the golden era been slandered like this is sad and laughable. Our other coach is also a lumpinee champ and actually coaches on the Thailand sports authority instructors course. He signs the certificates that instructors are using.

We are definitely registered and fully compliant and people should not listen to lunatics who claim otherwise.

I'm going to defend these accusations to the fullest

that's not true we are registered with sports authority, board of boxing sport, ministry of education and a Ltd company. We have 2 former lumpinee champion coaching it's ridiculous and laughable to think we didn't get a sports license

All hanging in our gym at our published address for the authorities or anyone else to inspect.

Some jokers on here

I run a muay thai gym in chiang mai. We dont do less than 6 month courses as there is a danger the embassy / consulates will issue a tourist visa instead of a DTV.

Read previous posts, doubtful that a qualifying school would offer 6-8 week sufficient course length.
