Is it worth trying to convince Thai immigration to accept the 65k monthly income for O-A visa extension instead of the 800k route?

I have just returned from Laos back into Thailand and got my last one year stamp from my O-A visa. Happy days! We went straight to immigration in Mukdahan to do the TM30 and while I was there I asked about proof of funds for next year if I extend. The two IO's only mentioned the 800k route and not the 65k monthly route. I was hoping to start the monthly 65k's this month but not sure it is worth it now. My question is : Am I correct in assuming it's not worth trying to convince them otherwise? Just do as they say next year if I extend?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user discusses their recent return to Thailand with an O-A visa and their experience at the Mukdahan immigration office regarding proof of funds for a future extension. They mention that immigration officials only acknowledged the 800k bank balance requirement and not the 65k monthly income option, leading to their uncertainty about whether to pursue the monthly income route or follow the officials' advice.
