Hey just wondering what my options are. I have 50k USD saved up in a savings account for the past year. I'm in the US(washington embassy). Will the embassy ask for my work or income if I go soft power route like Muay Thai?

Answer summary

The user is exploring options for obtaining a Thai visa, particularly the soft power route via activities like Muay Thai, noting they have $50,000 in savings. Community responses suggest that while proof of income is typically not requested by the embassy, evidence of meeting financial requirements is necessary. It is recommended to have acceptance from an approved Muay Thai or cooking school for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) and to check with the embassy for specific requirements.

We have not had customers asked for proof of income. Only proof that they meet the financial requirements .

It is always best to check with embassy directly. Here is the link to Washington DC embassy website DTV requirements:

What other power route

Thai Soft Power route realistically possible per your answers. Age and the financial threshold are met per your answers. Instead of a professional proof, you need the acceptance letter from the Muay Thai school, cooking school or clinic — check early on whether the institution you've chosen is recognised for DTV purposes.

If you have work/income that may allow you to work remotely, go worktation route. Alternatively, softpower if you plan on taking on muay Thai or cooking classes.

They want to see how you will support yourself living in Thailand outside of the 500k THB. Show online income or additional savings.
