For those who applied for a DTV under the Soft Power category, what activity or course did you choose, other than cooking or Muay Thai?
Embassy of Paris
Thanks!
Answer summary
Many applicants for the DTV under the Soft Power category at the Embassy of Paris have selected courses in Thai language, traditional massage, yoga, meditation, and Thai arts such as dance or musical instruments. It's important that the chosen course provides an official letter detailing the applicant's name, course hours, start and end dates, and the school's license number. Long courses with clear schedules and payment proof are preferred, and having a portfolio showing genuine interest in the activity can enhance the application. Other noted options include botany and medical treatment.

For Paris embassy, many picked Thai language, traditional massage, yoga, meditation at temple, and Thai arts like dance or instrument. Thai language school in Chiang Mai or Bangkok with six month course is often accepted, same for Wat Mahathat meditation and ITM massage school.
Make sure course gives official letter with your name, course hours, start and end date, and school licence number. Paris office likes long course with clear schedule and payment proof, plus small portfolio showing interest in activity helps a lot.
You could consider reading a book or two before your trip. I’d recommend Unlock Thailand by Isla Rey on Amazon, it includes all the info and insights you need. You should check it out. A very good companion 👌.
