Does applying with a Wise account instead of a bank account cause any problem?
Answer summary
Using a Wise account for your visa application appears to be largely accepted, but experiences may vary by location and individual circumstances. Users have reported no issues when applying at various embassies, suggesting that Wise can be a viable alternative to traditional bank accounts, especially in places like Mexico City, Washington D.C., and Hanoi. However, requirements may differ, such as needing more detailed statements or specific documentation. It's important to be mindful of the rules at the specific embassy where you are applying and to provide appropriate proof of funds.

Depending we're you apply. Loas wanted 3 months of wages going in. So I wouldn't be possible to use wise as anyone could put funds into wise for evidence .
Also, if you have Wise, you actively have to turn on statements. I did that and had those as my support. You have to manually create the first one and then you can schedule it to generate monthly. But you can always go back and create them for periods you don't have.
I had no problems applying with Wise. I used the embassy in Washington DC. Additionally I moved money between bank accounts (I simply noted why I did it) and i got zero questions.
I applied with Wise at the embassy in Mexico City. Was not a problem, but they made me submit 3x 30 day statements instead of 1x 90 day statement. You generate the statement date range yourself so was a bit counterintuitive, but hey that’s what they wanted.
Anonymous participant Yes, John is correct. I previously applied from Hanoi. I showed the 500,000 in thai baht and then my English account both through wise and had no issues.
No. I did it. But I also took a picture of my wise app showing the amount of money, with another phone. (I have 2 phones, but you could do it with the camera of the computer and also show your face/smile too). They like real pictures where they can see you haven’t photoshoped. And they like selfies. This is Valid for Hanoi.
