Looking to do my Non O-A visa (long stay based on retirement) in London next month. Has anyone done there's there & any advice please. Also on application it says to enter within 3 months of granted which I will in April. But also asks for dates & flight number is this really needed as not totally sure on date of travel as need to tie up things in U.K. Many thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks advice on applying for a Non O-A (long stay based on retirement) visa in London. They mention the application requires entry within 3 months and asks about needing to provide confirmed flight dates, as they aren't certain of their travel date yet. Comments address required documents, such as police and health checks, and clarify that while the visa is valid for a year, the entry requirement may stem from general visa application guidelines.

I did mine at London too , about 3 years ago , you’ll need a police record check , health check ( download form from the thai embassy web site ) . Uk bank statements . And I never actually got round to using it ( left uk ) until about 5 months after issue , note I also nearly got just under 2 years on that before I had to do my first extension ( 800k bht in thai bank etc ) .. note .. all the items you need as previously mentioned need to be ‘ bundled and sealed ‘ by a solicitor.

@Adr***
, I'd just leave it blank and or write will by the ticket after the visa is issued.

Ok but do I need to give firm dates to enter ?

Ahhh, that's because it's a boiler plate application for ANY Non-Immigrant visa not just Type O-A.

All other types of single entry Non-Immigrant visas are valid for only 90 days.

The Visa is only valid for 3 months. this means you have 3 months to enter Thailand and use this Visa. If you are not sure when you fly in April I suggest you wait till you sure about the departure date.

@Robert ******
I can't figure out why they would tell him he'd hafta enter in 3 months though :(

Sorry missed the -A part in the question.

That is not correct. A Non-Immigrant Type O-A (Long Stay) visa is good for a year from the date it's issued.

Even a single entry one is good for a year :/
