Worried about Visa application. I had issues getting all my documents together for my OX visa application. I am not sure I have the right medical records uploaded. (I did upload my full medical records sent by my doctor). (Since it took so long to get all my records my application deleted and I had to start all over today the 10th) I leave the 15th and arriveon the 17th.. The visa application is 400 non refundable. I have spent way too much to cancel my travel plans.
Should I go ahead and travel on a visitors visa and sort it out when I land, or risk the 400 non refundable visa application now.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is anxious about their OX visa application due to issues gathering medical records and the urgency of their travel plans. They are contemplating whether to proceed with their OX visa application, which incurs a non-refundable fee, or travel on a visitor's visa and resolve their visa situation upon arriving in Thailand. The conversation includes suggestions and opinions from other users about visa requirements and alternatives.
Just as an FYI I've never heard of an American getting the OX visa. The only country whose citizens commonly get OX visa are Australians because the embassy in Australia allows you to keep your money in Australia. Every other embassy as far as I know wants to see the money requirements in a Thai bank, so there's no advantage of the OX visa over the regular O visa in Thailand because both the insurance requirements and the bank deposit are so much higher for the OX visa than the regular O visa.
Most people just get an OA visa if they don't want to hold a large amount of money in a Thai bank account (easy to get 2 years out of this) or they get the regular O visa so they don't have a large insurance requirement. By getting the OX visa you are getting the worst of all of these.
You should research and understand the difference between O, OA, and OX first. There should be a pinned post at the top of the group that has some of the differences I believe.
The OX is a retirement visa. You cannot work on any retirement visa. The only "retirement" visas that allow you to work is the Wealthy Pensioner LTR visa as it allows you to apply for a work permit. None of the Non-O retirement visas allow a work permit (Non-O, Non-OA, Non-OX)
you need to have the form signed. You can just do a video call with a doctor like Dr Donna and she'll sign it for you for like $10. The embassy could care less about you medical records. They don't know how to read any of that.
The form is available all over the internet. Usually easiest is to try and submit what you have and then if they have any issues with it they will reply back with an e-mail and ask for something else.
