To the folks who work online, when a border guard asks you what your reason for entering Thailand is, do you tell them you work online? I just say Tourism.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Many expats advise telling Thai border officials that your reason for entering Thailand is tourism, especially if you are on a tourist or visa-exempt entry. Some suggest simplifying your responses to avoid complications, while others express concerns about immigration monitoring online discussions. Overall, it is generally recommended to keep your explanation uncomplicated, stating you're there for holiday purposes.

Keep it simple, if you're comin' in on a visa exempt or tourist visa entry you're here for tourism.

I freely admit they could read this group and others related to thailand BUT given the abysmal grasp of even rudimentary english here I'd say if they're doing anything they're data mining by some key word parameters and no one is sitting at a terminal persuing the various and sundry posts.

I think it's way more likely that some do-gooder foreigner clues the powerz-that-b in to the fact that there's this or that on the inter-web rather than thaiz finding it themselves.

If I was a lazy devious immigration official somewhere and I wanted some easy arrests this is exactly the sort of place I'd look. Now where do you think might have lazy devious immigration officials?

I would bet dollars to durian that no thai immigration officials read this page or any english page about visas that foreigners post on the inter-web.

Believe me they have way better things to do with their time than try to read an english language f/b page ;)

Tourism. You can always say your family runs a business and smile implying "Im sponsored af". For the younger folks specially with loads of stamps it works good.

Tourist. It' all I tell them. If inquired further I explain that I am employed in the US, via remote office. It sufficiently confuses them. But on all the paperwork - I say I am here for tourism.
