Hello all,

Does anybody here has experiences or knowledge about entering Thailand with two different passports and therefore nationalities?

I know that immigration using a biometric system which should identify one via fingerprints or the picture. But would be curious if it really worked or not?

In case it is working and they ask you about dual citizenship, my assumption would be that this should be no big issue if you give them a valid explanation.

Or do I miss something and using a different passports than the times before could be seen as cheating to vanish the previous travel history?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the experience of entering Thailand with dual nationalities and the use of two different passports. Community members confirmed that immigration uses biometric systems that retain travel history, thus previous entries won’t vanish. While using different passports is generally acceptable, potential issues could arise if one attempts to circumvent visa limitations. Overall, most immigration officers may not scrutinize passport changes unless there is a reason to do so.

I have been in with a NZ and British passport when one or the other was nearly full, no problems and no questions! The last time being 3 years ago, so things may have changed since then!

Entering with different passports won't be a problem in general. It could become one, should you try to use a combination of both in a way as to circumvent certain limitations (e.g. max 2 land border crossings on visa exemption per year). And theory aside: as long as your presented passport looks "good" (stamp / travel history wise), I doubt most IO will check deep within their computer system.

the passport is scanned and the IO gets a full history on screen

I know how it works. Had a look in detail at their system / screen, once. Just saying as long as the passport in "clean", they won't always scroll through all the details of the IT.

Your previous history won't vanish and will be available to the immigration officer so it won't make any difference

The IO would probably laugh and say different passport
