Should I mention my previous DTV visa application in my cover letter for reapplication?

Hi everyone,

I'll be reapplying for a DTV visa in the coming days. I had a previous application through the workcation route rejected. I'm going to apply again using soft power.

Should I mention the previous application within a cover letter for the new application? If so, any ideas on how to structure this letter?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around an individual reapplying for a DTV visa after a previous application, through the workcation route, was rejected. They inquire whether it's necessary to mention the previous rejection in a cover letter for their new application focusing on the soft power route. Responses suggest varying opinions: some advise mentioning the rejection and explaining it, while others recommend not mentioning it since the authorities will see the rejection in their system regardless. Additionally, the importance of ensuring that the new educational program meets visa requirements is highlighted.

Wasn’t able to show 3 months of payslips - company was new and pre-revenue. This was for workcation.

While they may not have told you what it was that had you rejected you definitely need to identify whether it will be corrected by changing how you apply.

You are asked in the beginning to say whether you have ever applied for a Thai Visa in the past and your answer would be yes. You can explain in a cover letter if you choose, though it's not going to matter if the reason for previous rejection remains unresolved.

don't even bother mentioning it

seeing as all visa applications for thailand go thru the eVisa online web-portal I would say that the consulate reviewing your application will see the previous one which was rejected on their side of the system 🙂

Just apply thru the soft power category using what ever you're enrolling in to meet the requirements

Ah, I see. As a dual passport holder, is it best to apply under a different passport? Would that make a difference?

won't make any difference, many people have DTV or visa applications rejected and apply again immediately without any issue
