Should I continue with my Thai visa application while in China or abandon it?
👋trying my luck here.. i am an aussie currently travelling in china and going to thailand next and will be staying for >30 days so i’ve applied for TR in Shanghai and i got additional doco requests which asked me for bank statement with chinese bank (i provided australian one) and resident permit… chinese bank i might be able to solve but resident permit is basically impossible for me to get as i am in China under 30 days visa waiver… i called the shanghai embassy and they were like nah you should’ve asked before applying and emailing them has been just 3 word responses of upload those docs without really answering my question…
Shall i just forget about this application and move on or upload something else for the bit that asks me to prove i am legally in china…

dunno who told you to apply in China for a thai visa but that was pretty piss poor advice The inter-web is littered with posts from people who tried and were rejected. You're out nothing now, wait it out they'll either approve or reject the application Upload your entry stamp to china (as it's all you have as a tourist because you don't have legal residence there)

Why would you get a TR? you want to stay 30 days plus. don’t you get a 30 days visa exempt on arrival? then you can get another 30 days inside thailand at the immigration
