Should I apply for a DTV visa at the Thai embassy in Mexico City or directly in Asia?

Hi! I’m a digital nomad from Europe currently in Colombia. I will leave soon for Mexico, where I plan to stay a few months. Then I’d like to visit Asia and I’d like to apply for the dtv visa. Do you think it’s better to apply meanwhile I’m in Mexico City, where I see there’s a Thai embassy, or maybe it’s better to fly directly to an Asian country like Vietnam or Philippines, and apply and wait there? I think I meet all the requirements but I also see people getting denied with no reason and I don’t want to risk to fly to Asia and then fail the application. On the other side I don’t know how Mexico manage visas (bureaucracy is a mess). Has anyone applied in Mexico City? What would you suggest? I appreciate any advise. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A European digital nomad currently in Colombia plans to visit Mexico and then Asia, seeking advice on whether to apply for a Thai DTV visa at the Thai embassy in Mexico City or directly in an Asian country like Vietnam or the Philippines. Concerns include potential visa denial, the bureaucratic challenges in Mexico, and the application process in both locations. Comments suggest checking the Thai embassy's policy for third country nationals and highlight popular application locations in Asia.

Why do you want DTV ,? You are allowed 69 day visa exempt then 90 day ext. DTV is time consuming and costly if your just traveling around se Asia

First thing to check is if the Mexico Thai Embassy accepts applications from 3rd country nationals and on what visa it is possible. Some Embassies only accept 3rd country applications if you have a long term or residence visa. Ask the embassy

Not seen any posts from Mexico so not sure how the process is there. Applying in Vietnam is very popular, and you have loads of posts to help your application. The Philippines is a good choice too. If you are able to apply from Mexico, then it makes good sense to do from there before coming to Thailand.
