Transferring 65000 baht to new account for non-O visa

Here is my plan. November is my first year on the non O. I plan to open another account in September transferring 6500 baht to it using my wise account. The following year November 2027 would that be acceptable?
Answer summary
To qualify for a Non-O visa extension in Thailand, you must demonstrate a constant monthly transfer of at least 65,000 baht into your Thai bank account for a minimum of 12 months. Transfers must be from foreign accounts and clearly marked as foreign funds transfers (FFT) on your bank statement. It's advisable to transfer slightly more than 65,000 baht each month to account for currency fluctuations. Additionally, it’s important to check with your bank about how they process these transfers to ensure compliance with immigration requirements.

Onto transfer exactly 65k because if the bank mysteriously adds even a Bt1 charge, it screws up your visa.

Send Bt66k plus

Also, consider how you plan on making those monthly transfers in order for them to show up on your Thai bank statement as Foreign Funds Transfers. I have used Wise since October 2021 for transfers to my Bangkok Bank account with no problems. However, in order to comply with new government rules, Wise is sending transfers to Kasikorn Bank which then sends them on to my Bangkok Bank account and they no longer show up as Foreign Funds Transfers. Bangkok Banks says I need to get a statement from Kasikorn Bank confirming the transfers, but I don't have a KBank account. If you go to Wise's page, they now recommend if you want to be sure your Thai bank statement reflects your transfers as FFT, you should do a direct SWIFT transfer from your home bank. Grrrrr!

I went through the hassle of getting a ‘Letter of Credit’ from Kbank when Wise started this.

Immigration did NOT accept that documentation.

Fortunately I also had a Kbank account and did a 2nd transfer to Kbank that month and every month after. that.

Jitae929 Thanks for the heads up! I went to KBank today and asked them about opening an account. I also specifically asked if international funds transfers will show up as such on my bank statement and they said no. They said I would have to get a Credit Advice from them to confirm the transfers. How are the international transfers, if you are still using Wise to make them, coded on your bank statements now, if you don't mind me asking?

Margarita L Houston yes, I am making the monthly deposits to K-bank through Wise.

The statements does show the deposit as a foreign transaction. But immigration ask for a credit advice letter for each deposit.

K-bank was very nice and created a single letter detailing all transfers.

I now use my k-bank account only for immigration related monthly deposits.

Margarita L Houston take into account if your home bank charges for international wire transfers and also how much Bangkok Bank takes for the deposit fee. Might be better off changing banks. Kasikorn or SCB maybe.

Actually, what it says is do you want proof of a currency exchange. If it asks if you want proof of an international transfer, please show me where because I couldn't find it.

You'll need to ensure that a minimum of 65k baht appears in your Thai bank account and is tagged as an overseas transfer each and every month for the 12 months immediately prior to applying for your extension of stay. It can't be a single satang under 65k baht and you can't miss a month and make it up the following month so I would transfer a bit more to allow for currency fluctuations and time your transfers for the middle of the month

As long as you have 12 months of transfers when you apply yes you’ll be fine (foreign transfers)and don’t touch your 800k until they accept your monthly,so if you renew 30-45 days early it’s 12 months from then

you need a monthly transfer over a MINIMUM of 65,000 THB (that's why you should always transfer much more, the exchange rate is fluctuating!) and it must be coded in your bankbook as a foreign transfer, i.e. have come from abroad
