I am going to get a visa from US and have always been warned against an e visa. Looking now it appears I have no choice but to get an e visa. Any comments on this please?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on applying for an e-Visa for Thailand, having been warned against them in the past. Comments indicate that e-Visas are equivalent to traditional visas in terms of requirements, and user experiences with e-Visas have been positive. Suggestions include carrying a printed copy of the e-Visa for travel.

I came in on an an evisa, no problems. I don't why people would warn you away from them. The only thing I would suggest is that you bring a copy of the evisa with you boarding the plane and anytime you go to immigration, if you stay that long.

The evisa is NO different to any other visa, it's just the way it's issued. The requirements are the same.

Visa exempt 30 days can extend 30 days once in Thailand ...assuming you are a US citizen looking to travel to Thailand

Every country that has switched to the evisa only allows you to use that system to obtain a Visa.
