Today lawyer told me that’s huge problem with dtv visa and people are waiting 2 months, is it true? Anyone have experience with that?
Answer summary
The original question addresses concerns about significant delays, up to two months, in processing DTV visas in Thailand. The response includes various comments discussing visa options, experiences with agents, and changes in fees over time. There are differing opinions on whether using an agent is necessary, with some sharing experiences of handling the visa process independently. Issues related to banking, requirements for retirement visas, and the costs associated with using agents are also topic points discussed in the comments.

Fiona Maher . . if you have a Thai bank account, and your own funds of a minimum of 800,000 THB sitting in it, you can get an agent service for 12,000 - 14,000 THB to get your 1-year extension of stay permit based on retirement stamped. Ask F.S. Consultings Co. in Pattaya. In case you do not have own funds, then the price would be up from 32,000 THB for a first year, at least with many agents. Then you keep using the agent and it would cost an annual around 18,000 THB (you cannot get off the agent because you are violating the terms of the upkeep of the deposit)
Get a quote from Maneerat visa they were the cheapest I found last year. Think I paid 38,000 baht with single entry. Also use them for the 90 day stamp as they only charge a 100 baht saves waiting in line at immigration
