Hi, is there something like a temporary restraining order in thailand? We have a pedophile here coming to our room every day. We told him many times to stay away. But he doesn't care. He already touched the ass of the daughter of my husbands sister once she was alone. We already called the police but they did not do anything just filled a report. He is coming here nearly every day. The grandmother is working and my husband, too. The kids are alone during that time when I am not in Thailand. We are locking the gate so that he is not able to come inside. He is standing in front of the gate and looking for contact. We told her to never open the door when that guy is outside. We don't know how to keep that ugly guy away anymore. All tips are very welcome. Thanks for your help in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original post raises concerns about a recurring harasser (a pedophile) who is persistently approaching a family's home in Thailand, creating a dangerous situation for the children left in the house. Despite police involvement, no effective action has been taken. Commenters offer a variety of suggestions, ranging from hiring local fixers or private investigators, to more violent and risky methods to scare the person away. There is a mix of serious and lighthearted responses regarding the legality of actions one might take, exemplifying the frustrations and complexities of dealing with such situations in Thailand.

Just one incident to touching will not qualify with the police as labeling him a pedo, unless they have other independent complaints. If he tries to force him on a child that is much different, and they will take action, but, they do need proof. Even though it did happen, there are too many people that lie to simply get people in trouble, so police need actual proof, and most everytime video proof, or hospital reports. This might sound uncaring, but it is what police need. He could simply be mentally ill, which is much different concerning the police. Like I say though, you'd be surprised what money can buy.

We talked with his family yesterday which also hate him. He has a Tomboy daughter who offered to come here quickly when he comes here again and beat the shit out of him to make him stay away. We will also install cctv to have video evidence for police. Thanks for your replys guys.

No way should pedophilia be tolerated in any shape or form, but you need to be very careful in your choice of words. If this person discovered you called him a pedophile, you'd have serious problems. It's also worth remembering that FB is monitored by Thai and international agencies.

Put the hose pipe on him everytime he comes. Tell the people he rents off about him. Tell local thais about Him, make his life as difficult as possible.

Explain the same story to the local motorcycle taxi guys and offer payment for coming up with (and implementing) a practical solution to this problem.

Is he Thai? You got no chance of dealing with it yourself. Pay a visit to your local Police Office and ask them if they can assist at the same time as donating a 1000 baht to their respect and honour fund!

come on guys. Someone is asking for serious help and you guys are spelling out violence with guns, hammers etc. Be reasonable in reaching out for help and advice. At this time I am not sure of the legalities here but expats resorting to violence in any form will go down bad for us in the end coz we are not citizens here. I will perhaps search for some proper legal advise before I give unreasonable comments.

Sat up visible video camaras. Post signs, let him and everybody know the area is being recorded. Take video, of any criminal activity, to police.

Pay a thai they will get rid of him anything done for money 💰

Ask some thai men to have a talk with him and ask him to never return

Sadly, victims of pedophiles, rapists, and other form of abusers are not taken seriously by police in this part of the world. This is the downside of living in a country like Thailand. You have five options:

1) You install cameras in the house and you videotape him groping the kids or wtv. The cops tend to take seriously video evidence.

2) You hire a fixer to scare him off.

3) You (by you I mean whoever is the strongest in the household), confront him and beat him up. To which, I'm sure many people here will contribute to a "Go Fund Me" for the cops to look the other way (if necessary).

4) You go back to the police station and ask how much money is needed to take care of a pedophile. This is what I would personally do. I would start by confronting the cops about what they would do if it was their child? It's an emotional plea more than a rational one. From my experience of dealing with authority in Thailand, being resilient is the way to go. Thai authority hates to lose face, they hate when a situation gets more people attention. They will only take you seriously in such situations if you show resilience.

5) You keep doing what you are currently doing = nothing. Sorry to be harsh, but telling him to "stay away" and "locking the gate" when kids are alone at home, is a very weak solution. You should worry about these children more than the potential consequences if something happens to the pedophile. You would be surprised at how little will happen to whoever beat up that pedophile. Cops in Thailand don't like to be in the middle of such dramatic situations, so taking the matter into your own hands would be my 2nd option.

p.s: Btw, where is the location? (province).

Expat or Thai? Different approaches. If expat hire an investigator to do a criminal history background check. There will likely be enough to ask immigration to classify the expat as a "persona non gratis" and deport him. If Thai, find a Thai fixer and pay them to address the problem.

he is Thai. Yes already think about that but in the end it comes back to us because he will know where this guys came from

Knowing where a message comes from always adds clarity to the message. If it were me that's what I would want. But perhaps working through a police officer who was compensated for his services services might be the best solution. Tell the police that you have too much jai dee to handle it privately and the child is relying on the police to protect her.

this is probably the best answer in this thread. Pay them to deal with it and they will deal with it. This is how things get done in Thailand.
