Thank goodness I am not involved, but getting some insight into the Thai legal process today and man it's depressing. That said, if anyone knows a Thai bail bondsman send me a message

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the complexities of the Thai legal system, particularly concerning bail and finding a bail bondsman. Several comments suggest that embassies might have relevant details and emphasize the importance of hiring a lawyer to negotiate bail. Participants express concern about the challenges faced by those involved in legal troubles, especially for foreigners who may not fully understand the system or face financial constraints. Caution is advised to avoid getting deeply involved in such situations, as it could lead to further complications.

Sorry but the best advice is to let that shit go. Nothing but trouble for you if you get involved deeper than you already are.

From what I've observed in thailand if you don't have money and you have criminal charges filed against you, a lot of jail time is pretty much inevitable.

is Dennis in trouble? No, this is for a Thai kid who works at the shop I hang out at. He and some other boys got into an escalating series of brawls (knuckleheads) but this kid is a bit younger and was just going along and when they all got called on it it was very "every man for himself" and the others all have family to support so I decided to try and sheppard him through. Not willing to put up a big chunk of money because I am poor (by farang standards) but I can afford to be generous with my time and energy.

wow that's pretty wild. I chatted with him a while back on Facebook about buying his hotel and he always smiles and waves to people driving by... I hope everything works out.

I just couldn't make peace with spending that kind of money for a business in a building that was rented without a decades long agreement in place.

1st phone call should be to a lawyer and he can negotiate the bail amount.

The whole thing is bonkers man. None of these are "big people" and they are scared to even ask questions. First thing j said was that I would pay for a lawyer to at least help. They call him chat and get off the phone but the guy never shows up. Then randomly some dude in an I'll fitting sport coat will show up and act like he is the lawyer for a while then he will wander off. Then the parasite offering a bail bond for 50k which I later learned would only be to let the kid wait in the lobby. It's like they are so scared of the system they can't even let themselves be helped. None of the citizen types have any clue what the actual process is. Even terms like bail seem to me something different after running through translate. It makes me sad for all of them.

50k seems about the going rate for a lawyer from the little I know. Guy lives near me messed up badly and killed a few folk drunk driving. He needs to find multiple 50k sums, one for each court appearance

I agree stay out of this situation before you wind up being a victim. Harsh to say but better to be safe then involved in a lawsuit.

There should be an option to give people a mild shock if they comment unhelpfully.

this is a Thai people in Thailand matter, I am just an interested party. Kid that is in trouble pours my drinks and has no family. I am willing to spend some time helping him, but not money. I'm poor.

false. There is at least one, but she saw me and thinks I will pay. I suspect she is trying to get a farang price. 50%!!!! I found two on Google, but neither answered the phone.
