I just got my new passport. I want to transfer my visa stamps. Is there a grace period to get the stamps transferred? Can I do in 1 month later for example?

Don’t forget to get an updated TM30 for the new passport after you transfer the stamps. I did an updated TM30 for my new passport before I transferred the stamps and although it appeared to go through and I was able to print a copy when I went to do my first 90 days report in person on the same day that I transferred the stamps the IO told me that the system hadn’t recognized my new passport and that I needed to do it again which I did and my next report went through successfully online.

I actually left the country and also came back just gave my new passport and show my old passport, never had an issue then when I did my 1 year extension showed old passport again and then they put the new extension in my new passport.. but I would not take my advice or anyone else's advice, go ask directly at immigration

No there is no "grace period" and in fact no real rule about the time line to move stamps at all, so waiting one month shouldn't be a problem

I know people who waited a few months because they had an extension due and did the stamp transfer new extension at the same time

BUT

Certainly do it before your next 90 day report and/or before you leave the country.

we did mine I believe 2 weeks after. It lined up with my 90 day extension. Was quite easy to do paperwork wise. Was a lot of waiting and time wasting by sifting through every single page of my passport. And took forever to just stamp it. But it’s doable.

What if I get a new passport while I’m back home on holiday? Should I just wait until my next entry into Thailand and present both passports at the airport, or would it be better to visit the Thai consulate in my home country first?

you can't visit a Thai consulate to get any stamps transferred :/

If you get a new passport in your country before you come back here you present both passports when you stamp in,

they will stamp you in on the new passport and make a notation your extension and reentry is in the old one

then you go to immigrations where you got your extension to move the stamps.
