Does anyone know if a toddler (19 months) also has to do a pcr before departure? He doesn’t need a ThailandPass, but it’s unclear if he needs to test or not. Same for upon arrival and on day 5-7.

Any info much appreciated!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A toddler aged 19 months does not need a pre-departure PCR test for traveling to Thailand, but it is required to pre-book and pay for PCR tests upon arrival and on days 5-7. Additionally, each child must have their own Thailand Pass linked to the parent's application.

When we travelled into sandbox 2 weeks ago, kids under 6 didn’t need a pre departure PCR test, but we did need to prebook and pay for on arrival and day 5 PCR tests for both our 20 month old toddler and our 4 year old. Also, just as an aside, they were both issued their own Thailand Pass, the application was linked to mine, but when approved we got one for me and a separate attachment for each kid with their own QR code

- sorry maybe you misunderstood. You have to fill the kids details as ‘dependents’ on your own Thailand pass application form. My point was that then they were each issued with their own Thailand pass with their own QR code - so when you receive for yourself you should also receive PDF attachment for the kids too

ah ok, yes I misunderstood, thanks for clearing this up ☺️

And when you applied the pcr on arrival was required?

- yes I uploaded the receipts for the kids PCR test bookings on my own application, and then we all got our Thai passes approved. And then yes, one test for all of us on arrival and one test for all on day 5, but the kids the swab is only saliva, not nasal swab

thanks for the info. I read that kids traveling with their parents don’t need a ThailandPass and kids under 6 get a saliva test upon arrival, what made you apply for TP and book tests for them? Or have the rules maybe changed since 11 January when the new version of the sandbox was implemented? (When entering personal data for the TP the youngest birth year I can fill in is 2010)
