Does anyone know if the DLT drivers license service has been suspended again? I saw a post on Thaivisa for Pattaya.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DLT driver's license service is currently suspended. A recent update indicates that the Royal Thai Police have been informed by DLT not to ticket individuals with expired licenses until after September 30, 2021. Additionally, the DLT will extend grace periods for renewing expired licenses once services resume. A report from a colleague indicated that foreigners must visit the DLT office in person to book a queue, but the DLT office is currently closed with no information on when it will reopen.

A follow up comment. A colleague was able to get through to DLT and she wrote me this message: Finally, I can contact the DLT. They said foreigners need to go to the DLT office by themself to book a queue, and go back again on the day queued to work on the driving licenses. However, the DLT office is closed now, and no scheduled yet when will be opened.

do you know how long the grace period is? Mine expired end of June and hopefully I'm able to go back to Thailand in early January.

Thank you a lot. I prefer to stay home right now rather than getting the documents for the renewal from the Embassy. Hard time is BKK.
