TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a car and motorbike driver's license in Thailand, you will need several documents including your national driver's license, a medical certificate, a certificate of residency, and copies of your passport and visa stamp. It's also important to note that you'll require separate sets of documents for the car and motorbike licenses. While an international driving permit (IDP) can assist in the process, it must be accompanied by your native license, and all documents should be translated and certified if not in English. Additionally, be prepared for vision tests at the Department of Land Transport (DLT) office, and check the specific requirements of the DLT office you plan to visit as they may vary.

Depends on which DLT office you wan’t to apply at, so contact the DLT-office of your choice, since it is slightly differs.

If colorblind you may run into problems.

Your international driving permit will save you loads of time as they then know what you have driven in your country. Ie if you drive a big bike it will be transferred to you Thai bike license

Pattaya DLT

Copy passport, copy visa stamp, medical certificate, certificate of residency, home country license translated and certified if not in English. You need one set of documents for the car and another set for the bike. They accept photocopy’s so don’t pay for two medical and residency certificates.

You national licence (you do not have an international licence - it is an international drivers permit (IDP) which is not a licence at all. And you need a medical certificate.
