Correct. Corruption has gone on for years, I've just never wanted to be part of it. Only needs one new broom and everything goes belly up. The new broom might be the changes to taxation. How will you explain the 800k which goes into your bank and then mysteriously comes out again? That'll be a laugh
why would you want to live in Thailand and change what they do on a small scale compared to the massive corruption that actually hurts kills and destroys people life's from a UK corruption country... Thailand best left alone
it's not about education Jim...not sure how long you lived here or been involved with visa situations but some people got more money than sence and would rather not be down the immigration and pay someone to do it..
True, that's their choice. I've been in Thailand for 15 years, never had an issue with immigration and never used an agent. I find the visa extension process to be quite straightforward - a little bureaucratic, but no more than I've experienced when living in other countries around the world.
mandarat soi post office... opposite the post office

I found immigration in Bangkok to be very organized and professional. They do everything by the book. I did my OA extensions there for 6 years and never had a problem. I found no need for an agent.
