I know, I know, same old questions, sorry....my friend is trapped in The Maldives (sounds great but its not) at work flying sea planes..thats been stopped for 3 months.
He has a Thai wife and 2 children needing him home in Phuket, is this even possible? Are there allowances for family memebers to return with the correct insurance & COVID test clearance? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the possibility of their friend, who is stranded in The Maldives, returning to Phuket to reunite with his Thai wife and children amidst COVID-19 restrictions. Comments indicate that, at the time, Thailand was closed to foreigners, allowing entry only to those with a Thai work permit. The situation is further complicated by a lockdown in Phuket and the closure of Phuket International Airport, making it clear that family ties alone won't suffice for entry.
The only country in the world which is morally bound to accept an incoming traveller is the country of citizenship of the passport you are using. Wives, children, houses, belongings, cars do not mean a thing at this time
Sorry...at this time Thailand is CLOSED to all foreigners by air, land and sea.
Only exception are those with a Thai work permit.
In addition Phuket Island is on lockdown. No entry or exit.
And...Phuket Airport Closure
The Governor of Phuket reported on social media that he signed an order to close Phuket International Airport from April 10-30, 2020. Travelers should expect all flights in or out of Phuket to stop beginning at 12:01a.m. April 10.
