Is it feasible to travel to Hong Kong and mainland China to resolve a one-day visa overstay in Thailand?
So I think I solved my 1 day overstay problem. I want to go to China for a week. Since Hong Kong is visa free for 90 days and I can visit mainland China for 10 days as long as I have an exit flight out of China, I can go to Hong Kong for a couple of days, go on to Chongqing for a few days and fly back to Chiang Mai from Chongqing on Nov 2 in time for my flight to Frankfurt. So basically I cancel the overstay issue. Is that feasible?

Why would anyone even consider an overstay and the usual people telling you it's not a big deal actually it is wouldn't do it unless it's beyond your control like being hospitalised or kidnapped avoiding a visit to immigration isn't on that list

Yes it's feasible, but it would be a lot simpler just to visit immigration and apply for an extension of stay

Bit extreme to avoid a one day overstay (which is just a 500baht fine,no black mark in P.P)but if you are wishing to visit China I'm sure you will have an amazing time..just now have to worry about the i.o.at C.M.letting you in on 2 (almost) back to back exemption entries

I really want to go to China and see the sunset over the Yangtze. Since flights from CM to Frankfurt have already been purchased and from Europe to Asia flights are much more expensive.

It is not just a 500B fine is stopped at a checkpoint for example while on overstay ;)Glennstev ***********
Graham Seal You would have to be very unlucky to be stopped at a checkpoint on your last day and even if you were ,would they really detain you if you can show a flight out the next day ..a 500 baht donation to the tea fund works wonders
