Are getting issues extending after 6 months for another 6 months?
I want to leave only once per year to renew not every 6 months
Answer summary
Extending a DTV Visa for another 6 months can be challenging, as immigration offices require extensive documentation and are becoming stricter. Some offices may not process extensions at all, while successful attempts often occur in larger offices, like those in Bangkok. Many participants suggest that leaving the country and returning (border runs) is a simpler, less hassle-filled option compared to the renewal process at immigration.

Easier and cheaper to just fly out for a few days and then come back. Visit another country in Asia. Many beautiful countries nearby.
DelightfulLemur1746 What a pointless comment - how can you say that it's easier to spend at least a day on flights to another country instead of going to immigration with all the paperwork and renewing your visa for 1900 baht?
because it's not just a matter of going to immigration with 1900 baht. It's literally easier and less hassle just to fly somewhere for a nice weekend or take a day overseas.
You can, but it's very hard to get all the documents they need. They are even stricter than when you applied for the visa, and some immigration offices don't even do extensions at all. You would have to go to a big one, Bangkok has seen some successful ones in this group for example
RedEagle8881 you extend via an immigration office in person with updated docs and bank statements with the 500k. Much easier to just leave and return and get the same 180 day stamp.
RedEagle8881 - when you applied, you applied online via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. When you extend, it is through the Department of Immigration, in person. Department of Immigration has never liked the DTV, as they were not consulted when it was developed. So some provincial offices make it hard to extend
