Is a 'trailing spouse' visa available for same-sex couples in Thailand following the legalization of same-sex marriage?

Can anyone validate this?

In Thailand, a "trailing spouse" visa is now available for same-sex couples following the legalization of same-sex marriage, meaning that a non-Thai partner of a Thai citizen in a same-sex marriage can apply for a dependent visa to live in Thailand with their spouse.

If this is not an option, what other options does my wife have to stay while I work in Thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the potential availability of a 'trailing spouse' visa for same-sex couples in Thailand after the legalization of same-sex marriage. It seeks validation of this information, as there is uncertainty regarding visa rules for same-sex couples, particularly concerning dependent visas for non-Thai partners. Commenters express skepticism and discuss the lack of established policies, noting that while it may be possible in the future, current guidelines have not been updated, leading to confusion about the requirements for same-sex couples.

It likely will be possible in the future. But I don't believe the relevant government agencies have updated their guidelines and policies yet.

That is what my attorney told me too two weeks ago. he knows of nobody who has done it yet and believes the polices are not in place yet.

I was asked in my visa advice group by a German/Thai gay couple who are married legally in Germany, if they can get the dependent spouse visa for Thailand. They had visited Immigration, but it seems there haven't been set any rules regarding same sex marriages, yet

That is not a trailing spouse visa, as that is as a dependant on a foreign spouse.

It is unclear the rules on 2 foreigners.

If you are married to a Thai.

You will apply for the non-o visa based on being married to a Thai.

Requiring all the relevant documents.

However it is unclear on the exact rules, as no one has processed one yet.

The belief is the foreign same-sex spouse will have to provide financial evidence, of 400k in a Thai bank.

You will have to go to your local immigration for the requirements to be sure.

I do not know, or have I heard of, anyone doing it, or attempting it yet.
