Hello everyone,

I’m a freelance consultant with some long term clients, at the moment I mainly work with one that’s UK based, I’m a resident of Germany, I have a contract since 2023 with this client but my current contract with them is until January 2027 only. Extensions happen only when clients have budgets so I can’t provide contracts going beyond that time. Is that okay?

Also this organisation I work with as a freelance and remote consultant is ready to support my application with a letter. Does any one recommend a template or which intimation should be clearly stated in the letter ?

Same.  Contract ends in January, Wont get a renewal until 5 minutes before as the bean counters always refuse to process extensions until a couple of valued consultants leave.  BUT London Embassy took a letter from the client to say what I do , and the contract itself which says Jan 2027 , and it was fine > I did, however big myself up on a cover letter and said I am highly sought after and turn away clients.

I was approved with a single client with no contract. The letter specified types of services provided, confirmation I have the ability to work remotely including Thailand. Payment terms i.e. 'x Invoices for services rendered and payment is made directly to his UK bank account.' and 'We anticipate continuing to engage X on future projects'.
