I would like to know for the first year retirement visa extension. I have letter from French embassy that I receive pension more than 65,000 per month. Is it enough for financial evidence of first year retirement visa extension at Cheangwattana immigration? Does the officer need more documents than pension letter from the embassy? Please advice.
Answer summary
For the first year retirement visa extension, a letter from the French embassy confirming a monthly pension of over 65,000 THB is typically sufficient as financial evidence. However, it is becoming common for immigration officers to request additional documentation, such as an annual pension statement to verify the information provided in the letter. Therefore, while the letter is a critical document, it may be beneficial to prepare extra documents to avoid any issues during the extension process.

I use a letter from the German embassy every year no problems.

Theoretically just an income certificate from the French embassy alone would be sufficient for proof of funds for the extension. But immigration offices are increasingly asking for verification of the data such as your annual pension statement to accompany the certificate

Do you mean 1 year pension statement issued by French organization where I receive my pension?

HopefulLion7720 yes, something that shows the "source" from where the pension is from. Can be an original document (in my Immigration office they know how to use the Google-Translate camera lens). . . . Together with the income affidavit of the French Embassy in Bangkok that's sufficient
