2000 at the immigration, but if for some reason the police check your passport and catch you with it, then it will cost 5,000. Funnywise on my Chiang Mai TM47 form it is written that it cost in any case 5000

It's a THAI IMMIGRATION RULE ...A requirement for being allowed to stay in Thailand... Simply follow the rules of your Thai Visa and permission to stay in Thailand

After your first time you can do it online, it's free and takes minutes. Why wouldn't you do it?

it has been resetting every entry for me. So I have to go in each time. But even then it's pretty straight forward and hasn't taken me longer than 15-20 minutes wait even when it looks like they're really busy

Anonymous participant why would you pay that much? First time I did for free myself. Second time I paid an agent 500b to do it. Didn’t move from my sofa.

Not everyone lives close to immigration, also at some immigration you wait half a day in a queue to get it done

You only need to do it if you're in the kingdom for that long, and it's really easy to do. If you don't want to do it, just go for a weekend away every 85 days.
