Hi. Chiang Mai, Non-0 retirement extension with 800k baht in bank. How many days before application can I do the bank letter, documents, copies, bank book,? And then matching the bank book on application day?

Then 2 or 3 months after maintain 800k in bank.?
Answer summary
In Chiang Mai, you can obtain your bank letter and statement up to 7 days prior to applying for the Non-O retirement extension. However, you must update your bank passbook on the exact day you apply. The requirement for maintaining 800,000 baht in your account is that it needs to be held for 2 months prior to the application and for 3 months after the extension is granted, with a minimum balance of 400,000 baht thereafter.

Remember in Chiang mai you can apply for an extension when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp AND you don't lose any time applying early because the new extension is added to your current expiration date.

Here's the online appt link to Chiang Mai

Reports around Recently saying immigration in CM has required appointments now in advance

Bank book statements/ book update are Formally accepted up to 7 days

It I would go in and ask what they require or ask in a CM Expat group also for local info ?

I just checked and there are no appointments available up till August and then it won’t go any further. Do we have to have an appt now for Chiang Mai office?

no you can show up and queue up for extensions you do not need to book an appointment and they only have appointments available 30 days in advance of the current day.

At my immigration office they require that the 800 is in 2 months prior and 3 months after. They also like you to bank 100 baht or more on the day you get your signed statement, letter, and updated book, with a copy of the first page and the last page.

Don’t know if that helps anyone.

It sure helps at the bank if you deposit.

Also, they don’t mess about get extension and re entry visa immediately.

In Chiang Mai you can have the statement and bank letter dated up to 7 days before you apply for the extension.

You need to update the bank passbook the day you apply for the extension.

The seasoning for banked money method for retirement extension is you need the 800k in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the extension, the 800k needs to stay in the account for 3 months after the extension is granted and then the balance cannot go below 400k the rest of the year.

- sorry to jump on the bandwagon but do you know if I can get bank statements and bank letter the day before going to Hua Hin immigration. I know I need to update my pass book on the day I apply for extension.

not sure if you meant if your bank give them to you if you walk in the day before. If so, check with your bank. Some banks require you to order the annual bank statement the week before you pick it up.

i think they are asking how early can they get the statement and bank letter from their bank BUT I could be wrong.

You are 100% correct that some branches make you order that year transaction report and it can take up to 5 days to get

Most offices allow those documents to be within 7 days past on a Hua Hin group and ask
