TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day report process in Thailand varies by immigration office but generally requires the completion of the TM47 form, submission of a TM30 form (residence certificate), and your passport. Most reports can be completed at local immigration offices, often within minutes. However, tips are contentious; while some suggest small gratuities for quicker service, others advise against it. It's also mentioned that reporting can be done online after your initial 90-day report if you maintain the same address, and you may avoid having to report by traveling every 89 days.

It’s amazing how the process differs depending on the immigration office. I just completed my first 90 day report at Samui immigration and did not have to complete the 90 day report form, just had to have a TM30 (residence certificate) and copy of my DTV visa. Handed that lot of paper in with my passport and was sorted in 10 minutes

I go to airport branch as closer to me and has a drive through. The Central Fesival office you can enter before the mall opens at 11am. Security guard will let you in.

TM47 form for 90 Day report which you can get there. Passport. I gave a printout of the TM30. He put it aside and never looked at it. They have it on the system.

Just go to your local Sotomor and do it if it’s your initial 90 day report…if you’ve stayed static for 90+ days ahd it’s your second one do it online

Initial is your initial or anytime you come back from an international trip

Or travel every <89 days so you never have to do one

Exactly. Can download Form TM47 and fill it in before you go. Otherwise, get one at the immigration office and fill it in whilst there. Sometimes they will fill out your TM47 for you. I give them a 100 baht tip for doing that. If they say “you’re missing something” it could be true or they could be holding out for a bribe. 500 baht would save you having to go away and come back.

Sometimes the girls by the door on the paperwork checking desk aren’t there or there’s a queue. Other staff help out. If they see I haven’t yet got a TM47 or filled it out they say “never mind”. They take my passport, print a confirmation slip at their desk and staple it in. That’s worth 100 baht and brings a smile to their face!

I have never been to Jomtien in recent years and not had the document checks done by the girls door first.

In Phuket you will wait longer and be handed the form to fill in yourself when you arrive.

at Krabi immigration they have a no gift policy and fill the form for you, only asking for your address and phone number. 90 days report is free and there’s no way to be missing anything other than your landlord not completing your tm30.

TM30 was what I was referring to. I don’t know whether Marie has a new address or not. To date, my immigration office doesn’t require another one even when returning from abroad providing returning to same address. But that could change and I wouldn’t know. That’s when 500 baht comes in handy to avoid another 160km round trip.

she can just book one night at the cheapest hotel in the same province and get a tm30 but wherever she is staying is required to do it anyway.

Anonymous participant 501 I’m not from USA. Experience of living in South America taught me how to ‘open doors’. My Thai wife is skilled in picking up when an official would be open to bribery. She says; “They’re all right”. If it makes life easier I’m all for it.

please don't do it, especially in such easy things like tm30/tm47. Just book one night in any hotel and you have tm30. Tm47 is just bureaucracy, I don't think they can refuse it if you have all the documents (actually only passport and tm30). Please behave.

Yeah, but honestly, I found it difficult to filter proper info as there is many useless comments such as this one "Be ready to prove that you are receiving all the money to live from the home country: ATM transactions in bank statements.". So yeah...
