How do I complete the 90-day reporting process in Thailand?

a month ago
How my 1st 90 day reporting went for those interested. I’m currently in Phuket. I walked in with my passport, a copy of my passport, and my TM 30.

I waited in queue about 5 minutes. The immigration officer had me fill out the TM 47. Then waited in another queue for about 10 minutes.

They review the paperwork and my passport and instead of putting another stamp in my passport, they stapled a small piece of paper stating my 90 day report was complete and the date I must do my next 90 day report. This had a stamp on it.

The whole process took less than 30 minutes 🙌

Standard procedure always goes that way for me welcome to Thailand

In many provinces it's a matter of 2 minutes.

Just realised you didn’t state the immigration office you used. Was it the main Phuket town office, Patong or Blue Tree?

It was the main office in Phuket. They answered the phone when I called about a question. Patong has much shorter hours and never answered the phone, so I thought that was kind of sketchy. If they can’t answer the phone, that kind of tells me how they treat you in person. I want it fast and easy and I got it!🙌

Thanks for sharing your experience 👍

In Krabi you just need your passport. Very easy process. Nothing to fill out.

each office has different procedures. With 80+ offices it’s impossible to know what is needed where.

But glad Krabi have a relaxed policy.

Surprised that you got to the immigration officer without the TM47 in the first place. Did you speak to one of the volunteers at the information desk when you got your queue number.?

I called them on the phone and they advised I only needed a copy of my passport and the TM 30. Luckily, I brought my passport with me because the first line I was in he asked to see it. That’s what I was assuming what would happen. This first line also gave me the form for the TM 47 and had me fill it out in front of him. Took about 3 minutes 🤗

Your next reports can be done online instead of going immigration.

Exactly!! I heard a few people got away with doing their first report online. I tried it and it got denied a day later.

No, you need to do your first report in person, the second one and third etc can be done online.

Yes, I’m not disagreeing with you. But if you keep up with the posts here, there have been people that have filed their first 90 day report online and it went through🙌

The first report after entering Thailand needs to be done in person. Subsequent reports can be done online. But for the DTV that generally means most if not all will need to be done in person as you have to leave by the 180 days (unless trying to get the golden extension ticket )

@Stuart ********
nothing wrong with doing the extension. just get your documents ready. should be easy.

@Dany *******
“should be easy” will go down in history. Absolutely nothing wrong in trying. How far that will go will be subjective. So far this month 5 people have managed to do so in Phuket. I guess way more have just bounced out and got another 180 days.

Right, but if online needs to be done before leaving and coming back if I'm not wrong. As it would reset the process and he will need to do it in person again.

Anonymous participant 406 I have been told I will have to do in person again after leaving and coming back - in Chiang Mai at least. My agent called her contact in immigration in CM to confirm. YMMV

right because you don't GET a stamp in your passport when you do a 90 day report,

It's the TM47 form and on the receipt they give you on the bottom left is the date for your next 90 day report IF you don't leave the country before hand

Correct, on my form (receipt) the date is in the top left corner

@Fontaine *************
usually they print out a form and it's half an a4 paper like this
