How can I extend my visa while waiting for my application in Cambodia?

I would like to ask for advice.
I had submitted my application on December 11th in Cambodia and pending now.
The thing is that I have 14 days visa and my visa expires on the 23rd, so should I extend it?

Cambodia takes 11 business days to process. Your visa (if they don’t ask for more paperwork) will be ready on Dec 25th or 26, depending on the time you submitted on the 11th. You should have entered Cambodia on a tourist visa and not visa exempt. Not sure you can extend visa exempt status.
