KOH SAMUI extensions stamps.

I was just wondering if anyone has managed to close the loop on their extensions past 11 October yet?

We have been trying to call the office, with no answer, this morning, so wondered if anyone has been successful with this yet. TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the experiences of expats trying to close their 'under consideration' stamps after the October 11 deadline in Koh Samui, Thailand. Many users shared insights on successfully navigating the immigration process, tips for reaching the immigration office, and the applicability of actions taken at Surat Thani immigration. The conversation emphasizes the importance of knowing where the stamps were issued and the possibility to close the loop at either immigration office within the same province.

Just closed the loop on my under consideration stamp in Samui.

The first stamp was from Surat Thani.

thanx for that update, SO to recap.. No matter WHERE in the Surat Thani province you got an under consideration stamp (one of the mobile immigration events, Samui immigrations, Surat Thani immigrations) you can go to either Samui OR Surat THani to "close the loop"

Thanx (y)

Has anyone had their Under Consideration stamp from Surat Thani office and used the loop in Koh Samui office?

you can only close the loop at the immigration office you got the extension of stay stamp

any source for this or just an opinion?

Just got answered by someone working with visas, and she said that it is fine to go to Samui as they are they same province.

, as a rule you have to go back to the immigration office that put the stamp in your passport (SO if you were one of those people on the Island of Misfit Toys who had the mobile immigration thing come and give out under consideration stamps) LOOK at the stamp and see if it says Surat Thani or Surat Thani (Samui) because that's how they're stamped

Here's the contact info, call them and ask OR post on one of the island groups those people will know

no I was dragged by the school from Koh Phangan to Surat Thani office to get the stamp so it states "Surat Thani" without (Samui), but I did just get told it is possible to get it done in Samui as well.

@Joonas ********
ahh, :/ hope who ever told you knows what they're talking about :O Good luck with it :)

I've spoke to both Surat thani and samui immigration directly yesterday and was told that with stamp from Surat thani you can still go to get extension from Samui.

I thought Samui and Surat Thani are different provinces, but if they are they same, then you should be able to use either one. You can not get an "under consideration" stamp at one province and close it out at another.

I did it just now in the Samui immigration office.

Travis Booth In the future I am getting a non-b visa, however now it’s impossible to get it without leaving and re-entering Thailand. So I showed them the proof of company ownership, explained the above and they gave me the letter. Hope this helps you.

Travis Booth Bangkok. You can just email them. They respond very quickly. And a scan of the letter was enough for the immigration, so you don’t even need to go to the embassy.

I've managed to get through and have also told me I can return for the stamp today. 👍

I called yesterday And was told that my application is approved and to come to the office before the end of oct. they said will be stamped end of Nov. I asked about future extensions and was told that procedures are not yet in place for that. I have a non b multiple and was on amnesty when applied for extension with the embassy letter. I applied on sept 21st with an under consideration stamp till the 11th oct. when calling the office listen to the option in Thai then stay on the line and eventually it will start ringing again and hopefully someone will pick up. It took me several attempts to figure out to stay on the line as it sounds like you’ve been disconnected.

Just a suggestion,
@Tra***
, post on a f/b group related to the islands or the south of thailand and I think you'll get more accurate and up to date information :) I messaged you about it too :)
Tod *********
I will let this post on BUT I caution members to read and understand that this is ONLY for people down on the islands in the south (the ones that had the mobile immigrations and who use either Samui or Surat Thani Immigrations.

It's people from down there who are being yanked around by the immigration offices when they try to close out "under consideration" stamps.

IF you don't live down there, if you don't have an open under consideration stamp OR if you haven't closed out an under consideration stamp on this current amnesty down there this post isn't all that relevant to you
