Can anyone from the U.S. tell me how you can get a criminal background check on yourself for the DTV Visa?
Answer summary
To obtain a criminal background check for the DTV Visa, U.S. citizens can use approved FBI channelers, which can be found through a quick search online. Many individuals have successfully completed their checks by visiting local post offices or police stations for fingerprinting. It's recommended to look for digital scanning options, which can expedite the process. Additionally, applicants should verify whether their chosen embassy or consulate requires digital submissions or hard copies of the background check.

Google agencies that do the FBI background checks. We had fingerprints done and the check complete by the end of the same day.
Yes I started the process it take a while so start there.
If you live in a city it going to be easier for sure.
Find the list of approved FBI Chandlers (i’m on my phone so I don’t have the link for you.)
Pick one and start the process .
I went with digital scan sent to the FBI faster that way.
Alternatively, you can go to the police station and get your fingerprints done by ink on a card and mail that into the FBI much slower but it can be done.
I’ve heard some post offices do fingerprint scanning there but not ones around within 100 miles of me didn’t.
I believe I used FA – biometrics to do the fingerprinting and sending it in.
Around $90
Took me a few days to figure it all out.
I have my appointment to get scanned on weds.
PS:
Check which embassy/consulate you’re applying to see if they are OK with a digital version or if they need a hardcopy.
