I received a request today for the following documents from the Thai embassy in Hanoi after applying on Friday (quick turnaround):
1.) Photo of my entry stamp - no issue there
2.) "Updated bank statement till the present."
The issue is #2, no bank I'm aware of provides mid-month or partial month statements up until a random day of the month. The most recent statement I'm able to download from by bank ends on February 28th. For context, I already provided 6 months of bank statement upfront going from January and back.
How am I supposed to provide a "bank statement until the present" when there's obviously no statement available going all the way to March 3rd?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing difficulties in providing an updated bank statement required by the Thai embassy for their visa application. They have already submitted six months of statements but are unable to produce a partial month statement. Suggestions from the community include sending a screenshot with the current balance and recent transactions, requesting a current statement from the bank via email, visiting the bank in person for a financial standing statement, or printing the online banking page that shows today's date and transactions.
Write an email to your bank requesting a current statement.

You can request a financial standing statement from the bank where you registered. I submitted it for my application successfully. However, you’ll need to visit the bank in person.

That's not possible for me unfortunately given that I haven't lived in my home country for over 4 years. Can't exactly fly back across the Pacific Ocean for a simple statement of financial standing.
Can you not just log in and print the page that shows todays date and transactions?

I was originally planning to do that but given how strict the Thai embassy in Hanoi appears to be, I opted for a single PDF including a note, my latest full statement from February along with a timestamped screenshot including time and date of my current balance. I thought a simple printout of the latest transactions, rather than an official statement, would somehow cause my application get rejected.
so they wouldn't accept the screenshot as being current?
In Thailand they want to be able to see every transaction and that's for the reason to see that it never dipped below the specified amount... But it seems like they just making up for interpretation of the rules as they go and it depends on each person handling the case?
Also requesting this when you are in a third country isn't very nice.
Some Bank apps and give you online automatically a few months statement maybe that would work?
I would argue the Thai Foreign Ministry is intentionally looking for frivolous reasons to deny people at this point. They never said they wouldn't accept a current screenshot explicitly but their request says "Updated bank statement till the present." Perhaps, as you said, it's viewed as improper by them to apply in a third country but then again, there's absolutely nothing on Thai Foreign Ministry's website that I've seen indicating any official policy against it.
I mean I also hear that they gladly take the money and canceled your application if it's like one mistake and you go back and forth from there app updating info and it keeps changing it automatically!?
It almost feels like a scam. I mean if we passport information doesn't match with what you entered they should just highlight it to you and say hey your data may be incorrect please update! Instead we just cancels people's applications. That is very rude. I don't think computers should be used to catch people making mistakes but rather help people to avoid making mistakes.
It also seems interesting but it's a five year Visa but if people get it for doing medical reasons and then they only have a schedule for 6 months are we going to start harassing people after 6 months? Maybe cancel the Visa if you can't prove that you still go to the doctor? Implications for future are not very clear. Lol
this dilemma has been covered a few times of late in the group. Include a brief cover letter explaining a statement from today's date isn't possible and include your last statement (which you have appeared to have done already) and a photo of your current dated balance/transaction list from your banking website.

Awesome, thanks that's precisely what I did. I created a PDF including a screenshot of my current balance with a timestamp included along with February 2025 bank statement.
