Can anyone tell me how to get axa insurance from my home country that meets requirements for the LTR visa when they require you to give an address in Thailand to purchase the insurance? They denied my insurance which is global with Aetna? Seems most have the same problem with insurance.
Summary so far
A user seeks guidance on obtaining AXA insurance from their home country to meet the requirements for the Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa in Thailand. They face challenges as the insurance provider requires a local Thai address for purchase, which complicates the process since they are not currently in Thailand. The community discusses their experiences, suggesting potential solutions like using hotel addresses, reaching out to AXA directly or the Board of Investment (BOI) for assistance, and highlights that many face similar issues with insurance related to the visa application.

Got it, I can't use it because it has to be in a bank account for a year and it's been in the CS brokerage as cash, I would have to transfer the money to a bank account then let it sit for another year before it would work.

I put the hotel's name. No problem. I also used AXA for LTR

James Green I don't have a hotel yet because I'm not traveling until I am approved for the LTR. I can only give them a hotel address that I have stayed at in the past.

Save yourself the headache and show $100k in the bank

OP
Todd McGowan I can show it in a Schwab brokerage account held in swvxx making interest that can be easily withdrawn but they require it to be in a bank not a brokerage for 12 months.

Ernest MarkWalter right. The money has to come out of the account as actual income. Not be retained internally.

And it needs to be clear that the income is sustainable.

I'm not sure what there is to explain. The money needs to be in a bank account, a brokerage account is not a bank account...

OP
ToddMcGowan Sorry, I don't understand. It's not needed to show as income. It's shown as savings to cover any need for health care to self insure. It's been in a brokerage account not being used for more than a year making interest because banks don't pay but a small amount of interest when you can get 3 percent or more from a brokerage money market account. The problem is they won't accept money sitting in a brokerage only a bank account. If I'm in Thailand I could make an appointment and explain that to an actual person but doing it from the US I haven't been able to explain that to anyone that will reply back. I've messaged the BOI but have yet to get a response.

The hardest part about filing for the Visa from your home country is not being able to talk to someone easily, unlike being in Thailand and making an appointment with the BOI there.

Doesn‘t the BOI takes care of all LTR applications? They should be the ones to help you through the process including health insurance
