I’ve a non O-A visa that’s due to expire a few weeks after my next entry in to Thailand.I am in and out a few times a year and prefer this visa to the O.

How can I extend this visa and what documents will I need?

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks information on extending their non O-A visa, which is about to expire shortly after re-entering Thailand. They express a preference for this visa type over the O visa and request details on the necessary documentation for the extension.

What is the original expiration date of the OA visa?

Have you already obtained the second year of the OA visa by departing Thailand prior to the end of the OA visa first year and reentering to get a second year?

The original expiry date is October 9th.

I’m still in my first year of the OA.

get a NEW year of insurance bounce out and back before your current visa expires and you will get stamped in for a whole new year OR as long as your new health insurance is valid for up to a year.

You might as well take the second year on this visa before you think you're going to switch off to a Non-O and a year extension

Would I need to buy a multiple entry re-entry permit as I’m in and out of Thailand a few times every year.

I know it’s a fixed part of the visa in my first year.

@Giles ********
Yes you would once the OA valid until date is passed (multiple-entry is 3800B at Immigration)

right after you come back in and get the new year entry stamp you'd go to the immigration office and buy a multiple re-entry permit for 3800 baht and that'd let you exit/re-enter for the validity of that year stamp.
