Has anyone here extended their DTV visa at Pattaya Immigration after the first 6 months? I really don’t want to do a border run — I’m on the freelance DTV and can prove everything.
Can you tell me:
• What documents you needed for the extension —
are they the same ones as for the initial application, or are there additional ones required?
• For example, do I need to show:
– proof of invoices / work done for clients?
– proof of 500,000 THB in savings?
– anything else like rental contract, tax docs, bank statements, letter of explanation?
• Was the process difficult or straightforward?
Thank you guys

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around extending a DTV visa in Pattaya after the initial 6 months. The original poster seeks advice on the necessary documents for the extension and whether the process is straightforward or challenging. Several comments suggest that many have experienced difficulties with the extension in-country, with recommendations leaning towards opting for a border run instead. Users mention required documents such as proof of income, bank statements, and savings in a Thai bank, but also warn that immigration may request additional or hard-to-provide documentation.
I dont see why if you have all the docs there would be any issues. Not sure if a dtv extentions takes more work than a normal tourist visa/exemption but I'd give it a go
No agent I spoke to said it was possible, so I did a border run laos n straight back ( friendship bridge 4 ) was easy ! I made it a 8 night trip by driving myself from Pattaya and back different directions seen lots cool places great road trip
They don't care what you have. It'll NEVER be enough. They'll ask for something that you either can't provide or will have an extremely hard time getting, then make you wait, only tell you to get something else again. Good luck.
Immigration don't like doing the extension so you are probably best doing a border bounce. You can try for the extension but you will need totally updated documents and 500k baht in the bank for at least 30 days, they may even want to see it in a Thai bank
