This is only tangentially related to the DVT, but hey, at least I’m not asking about 90 day reports! 🙂

For those of you who are traveling around Thailand rather than staying put in one condominium, what are you doing about your address for your phone contract/bill?

When I previously worked in Thailand, I received a paper bill in the mail each month, which I think took to a 7-Eleven or ATM to scan and pay.

So I was curious how you go about getting a contract and paying your bill if you don’t have a fixed address In Thailand.

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around how expats in Thailand can handle their phone contracts and bills without having a fixed address. Many users suggest opting for paperless billing options available through apps like AIS, which allow for easier management and payment without the need for a permanent address. Additionally, prepaid SIM card options are recommended for those traveling around. Users share their experiences with mobile providers and the convenience of paying bills online, contrasting them with the outdated system of receiving paper bills.

I bought a yearly SIM card... I used to come to Thailand and buy these 30-day SIM cards each time until they told me they had one that lasted for a year with a lot of Internet. It was a bargain at the price of 1790 BAHT with 100 GB Internet at full speed each month for a year.

Much appreciated everyone! I wish I had known about the paperless option before. Of course it makes sense with Thailand’s broad adoption of payment apps. I have no idea how I got set up on paper billing and thought that was standard!

Seriously what decade are you talking about 🤣🤣 everything is online now whatever company you sign with has an app everything is done there. It's if you don't have any contract for a tourist plan which is month to month you pay at 7-11

Sign up for paperless e-billing, AIS has this, but you likely need an address of some sort to start
