Do anyone knows if the London Thai Embassy calls to work place to confirm that the contract allows the person to work from abroad.
Answer summary
The consensus in the comments is that the London Thai Embassy typically does not call an applicant's workplace to confirm employment terms for remote work from Thailand. However, applicants are advised to provide clear documentation, such as a letter from their employer stating permission for remote work, especially confirming that they will not engage with Thai entities while in Thailand. The responsibility lies largely with the applicant to clarify their work situation in their application.

They won't call a place of work to verify, it is up to the applicant to prove the case. A contract or terms of reference provided by an employer must be specific in regards to this, if it's not clear then the application is likely to fail.
They usually want a letter from your employer giving you explicit permission to work remotely from Thailand and confirming that you won't work with any Thai entities or clients inside Thailand.
I have WFH contract. I was allowed to work from anywhere. But this new manager came. She want to turn the WFH to Hybrid in name of Training, Team collaboration and all that managers nonsense.
PeacefulChestnut5370 Not for here but it is an interesting debate. There are so many parameters and variables. My team in Bangkok were T.W.A.T.S. (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday in the office). :-)
Never heard of it. Probably do not have time to fully verify everyones applications. I doubt they have many Consular staff. Hiring will not be cheap in London.
