Does immigration grant a 7-day grace period after a work permit and visa cancellation in Thailand?

Hi,

Once a work permit and working visa has been cancelled, do immigration still issue a 7 day period to organize leaving?

If so, is there a cost for these 7 days?

TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, if a work permit and working visa have been cancelled, it is up to the immigration officer to decide whether to issue a 7-day grace period to organize your departure. If granted, there may be a fee of 1900 baht. To avoid complications, it's advisable to visit immigration in advance, ideally two weeks before your employment ends.

To avoid, go in advance like twee weeks before you stop working.

my employer seems to think we have to cancel WP first before we can make contact with immo

You can also cancel your work permit in advance.

Let's say two weeks before you stop working, go to Ministry of Labor in the morning, cancel your Work Permit with last day xx/xx/xx, have lunch, go Immigration and cancel Extension of Stay with last day xx/xx/xx,

totally up to the the officer in front of you, if issued, it would cost 1900 baht

I think anyone can get 7 days extension however after these 7 days you will have to leave. You cannot extend any further or change to another type of extension.

Thanks. Is there any factors that may help the office with his decision? Or, is it purely luck of the day?

correct

thanks for the fast reply. Totally up to the officer. So if they decide they don't want to issue? I would either A) Apply for a suitable visa. B)Leave Thailand the same day?
