TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers flying with Air Asia to Kuala Lumpur have reported that there are currently no requirements to show proof of a negative Covid test. Malaysia lifted all Covid-related entry rules on August 1, 2022, although some specific regions like Sarawak may have had temporary requirements for arrivals from certain countries. Overall, passengers have not needed to provide any Covid-related documentation for flights in and out of Malaysia.

sounds great. thank you for sharing your experience!
Ok thanks. I am about to do a post on this but in case you recently filled out a tourist visa application - what did you put for the local guarantor section? In fact you need the name and address of 2 local guarantors? Perhaps you recently saw this too?

No. Malaysia was the second SE Asian country to lift all Covid rules, on August 1, 2022.
That stated, Sarawak reimposed a vaccination requirement in January but it ONLY applies to arrivals from China and may have quietly been lifted in the meantime.
For Kuala Lumpur, all is normal, though Malaysia did reimpose temperature screening on entry (not sure whether this has quietly been abandoned in recent weeks).
